The Patient
Do you need a service your dentist cannot provide?
We understand that as you attend your dentist you begin to build up a trust, so it can be very daunting when you need a treatment your regular dentist just can’t provide and the only answer is to consider changing dentist.
Here at Guidepost Dental Practice we understand that strain not only from a patient perspective but also from a dentist. We have built up strong friendships with our patients as have many other dentists, and patients leaving us is always a cause for concern. That’s why we are happy to take referrals from other dentist for treatments they are just not able to provide.
We are able to offer special services like Implants, Invisalign, Sedation and a Clinical Dental Technician on site.
You will still be under the care of your regular dentist but we would provide you with additional the treatment you needed.
The process for doing this is, you would ask you dentist to outline the treatment required in writing and sent it to us. If you want dentures and do not have any existing teeth of your own we do not require a letter as our Clinical Dental Technician can carry out the examination of the mouth. If you would like Invisalign we do not always need a referral letter unless they are in the middle of treatment with your own dentist and this would only be to advise us of areas that may effect your Invisalign treatment. For all other treatments we like to have a letter explaining the treatment that is needed.
We would then contact you or you can contact us to arrange a consultation appointment. The charge for this appointment would be £47.50. At this appointment a full examination would be carried out to check your suitability for the treatment and a treatment plan drawn up. Treatment and charges would be explained at this appointment allowing you to make an informed decision on whether you wish to continue with the treatment.
Once you have consented to the treatment we would then schedule a treatment appointment. We would also if needed write to the prescribing dentist explaining the planned treatment.
Once treatment is complete we would the place you back in the care of your regular dentist and we would not need to see you again, unless there as any queries with regard to the treatment you received from us.
